Woodside Retreat was built in 1999 as a family home and is an ideal retreat in the mountains – a perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Woodside Retreat is a Homestay set amidst an Oak and Rhododendron forest in the mountain village of Pangot, 14 kms from Nainital on the Kilbury Road, at a height of 6,300 feet above sea level nestled in the Kumaon Himalayan region of India.
2. Stone House Area
Woodside has 6 double bedrooms in the main lodge and 2 double bedrooms in the stone house. Our stone cottage has two smaller bedrooms with attached bathrooms on the first floor and a lobby area on the ground , with another room which can be turned into a temporary kitchen. For the guests.
3. In the main cottage
there are 3 double bedrooms on the ground floor with attached bathrooms and 3 bedrooms rooms on the first floor with 2 attached bathrooms. The first floor can also be used by a large family as an en suite.
The main cottage has wooden floors and ceilings. The bathrooms are large with running hot and cold water facilities.
The lounge has bay windows and a large glass picture window that brings in views of the forests and the valley below.
4. There is a common lounge
With a pool table and cable TV for in house entertainment. There is a functional fire place in the drawing room which is fired up in winter from wood bought locally from a Government ‘taal’.The broadband wifi has a reasonably good speed of 50 mbps
An outdoor gazebo is also available to our guests and one can enjoy the sounds of the forests, while relaxing in the evenings here around a bon fire with a live bar be que.
As an extension to the lounge there is a large cantilever balcony with deck chairs where guests can have breakfast and enjoy the sun.
